There is an old saying that April showers bring May Flowers, giving us all something to look forward to on the rainy days in April. Las Palmas Mexican Restaurant on Riverside Parkway has established another May tradition to look forward to each year, by throwing the biggest Cinco De Mayo party in Northwest Georgia. V3 sat down with Las Palmas Marketing Director, Glenn Bowman to discuss the details of what is sure to be one of the best parties of the year.
V3: Glenn, we know Las Palmas always pulls out all the stops for Cinco De Mayo. Tell us what will make 2025 even better?
GB:What sets 2025 apart is the upcoming 3-day party on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Cinco de Mayo lands on a Monday, but we all know Saturday is the night everyone wants to let lose—and we’re here for it. Huge party, drinks, live DJ, dance floor, all under the big tent.
Then Sunday, we are having a party geared more towards families. Games for the kids, contests, Giveaways, and more still under the big tent.
And Then Monday, the day of days, Cinco de Mayo itself, will be the day where we pull out all the stops for everyone. It’s a full weekend celebration and we’re ready to make it unforgettable!
V3: Romans and people from all around Northwest Georgia make it a priority to come dine with you on this holiday. When did this tradition of bringing out the big tent begin?
GB: At Las Palmas, experience and engagement are at the forefront of what we do. We love serving the community. It started when the owners decided to throw a big Cinco de Mayo bash. We saw how well people responded, and it became the tradition we all know and love today.
V3: What kind of specials and giveaways can people look forward to this year?
GB: This Cinco de Mayo will be extra special. We will have a full drink menu ready for the weekend that I’m sure people will love. We will be doing fun Giveaways throughout the weekend–including T-shirts, Sombreros, and more surprises along the way.
V3: This kind of event takes a lot of extra effort. Tell us about your staff and how they kick in to make this happen.
GB: We are bringing in extra staff, additional seating, and even a full bar under the big tent to keep wait times low and vibes high. Without our dedicated team members, none of this would be possible. I’d like to thank each and every one of them for their commitment to our standard of service and excellence. Their energy and dedication are what make this event so memorable year after year.
V3: What else would you like to share with our readers concerning Las Palmas Cinco De Mayo celebration?
GB: Unlike some other party venues, we will have a visible police presence, not to dampen the mood, but to ensure everyone can have a blast and feel safe even if you’re coming solo.
We plan to pull out all the stops this year to make this the best Cinco de Mayo party ever.
