A tradition like none other:
When it comes to the 5th day of May, Las Palmas supplanted themselves as the center of the Cinco De Mayo universe in Rome and Floyd County. The already vibrant restaurant will once again be expanded out into the adjacent parking area under a big white tent filled with tables, decorations, bars and of course a live DJ. This year, the main party will take place on Saturday May 4th, allowing party goers a day to recoup or return for more fun on Sunday, so everyone is sure to get their chance to enjoy great Mexican Cuisine, beer, wine and craft cocktails in an environment that will do the holiday proud.
At Las Palmas, this tradition dates back 14 years and has grown exponentially over that time span, becoming the hot spot for not only locals but enthusiasts from the surrounding counties.
“Becoming the destination for Cinco De Mayo is something our entire team at Las Palmas is extremely proud of,” says Marketing Director Glenn Bowman. “People drive from near and far to participate, and our goal is to not only meet, but exceed their expectations. The continued success of this event is something I attribute to our community. There is always a demand for a good time, and at Las Palmas we aim to provide that, but we could not do that without the community and their continued support.”
Fun for the whole family:
While the party will rage well into the night, this is a family friendly event and during the daylight hours, it’s the young ones who seem to dominate the dance floor. If a babysitter isn’t in the cards, the festivities will make for a relaxing environment for parents and kids alike to enjoy a meal along with all the extras this event has to offer.

We mentioned the live DJ, but giveaways are a huge part of this event. Balloons for the kids, and adults if so inclined, along with contests and giveaways. The element of surprise is fun for everyone, but those who stick around for the main party at 5 p.m. on Saturday will definitely have the opportunity to walk away with some exciting freebies.
